Lab

Personal tools and experiments in software, data and AI. Each starts with a practical question and gives me something concrete to test, use and improve.

I build these outside working hours, independently of my employment. My professional experience is on the Work page.

Site Story
decisionmodels.net Working demos and notes about decision AI: models that classify information, flag what needs attention and choose between defined outcomes. Explore the source evidence, model choices and running costs, alongside explanations of where ordinary code, simple rules or other models may fit.
ozpeanuts.com Australian calculators for take-home pay, low-income super, child care, Family Tax Benefit Part A and basic BAS. Compare salary offers, work backwards from a take-home target and copy a pay summary, with assumptions and sources alongside the estimates. Development notes.
lowfruit.net Turn a task list into up to three priorities using value and effort. Add next steps, filter longer lists, track completed work and copy an action plan. Start in your browser, or sign in to save, share a read-only board and get AI suggestions you choose to apply.
eaglesheet.com A browser toolkit for everyday data work: generate Snowflake SQL, lint and format queries, convert CSV and JSON, tidy column names, and clean or compare lists. Paste a sample or open a file, inspect the output, then copy or download it for the next step.
zepiru.com An experiment in comparing language models through OpenRouter. Ask one model, or two in parallel or in sequence, and explore how their responses differ.
vust.net A single-model chat experiment using Cloudflare Workers AI, with streaming replies. A simpler counterpart to zepiru's model comparisons.
yera.cc A small URL shortener for creating and sharing shorter links.
zanile.com A shareable clipboard for moving text between browsers and devices.

What I'm exploring

  • Decisions with evidenceDecision Models explores where a model helps, how it compares with simpler rules, and what its decisions cost.
  • Making rules usableOzpeanuts explores how to make complex calculations easier to use without hiding their assumptions.
  • Planning and follow-throughLowfruit explores how clear priorities, next steps and a record of completed work can help people stay focused, with AI as an optional aid.
  • Everyday data workEaglesheet explores how small, inspectable steps can make working with files, lists and SQL easier.

Each project has a different scope and level of maturity. Working software gives me a place to test the questions; it does not settle them.
